[Run] Standley Lake Regional Park

The views from Standley Lake cannot be beat – sandy beaches with the mountains in the background and a clear blue sky! Stanley Lake is located in north Arvada and can be easily accessed from Wadsworth and 86th parkway. The trail system is packed dirt and sand if you venture close to the water!

We biked to Standley Lake on our first bike ride in Colorado yet this was my first time running here. I ran on the first Sunday in October which is the day of the Twin Cities Marathon in Minnesota and wore my last finisher’s shirt to represent! As a girl who likes a loop, the big negative is that the path does not connect all the way around. I went as far as I could in both directions around the lake to make the most of my time here but ultimately couldn’t get around the entire lake on foot. Maybe someday that will add a path to the Open Spaces in the northwest corner!
