Barcelona Travel Guide

Hello Barcelona! This trip was five (5) years in the making as we initially had EVERYTHING booked for an April 2020 adventure. Like many people, the Covid-19 global pandemia forced us to cancel our trip. We decided to make 2024 our year in honor of our tenth (10th) wedding anniversary! The delay was worth it as we had a memorable trip and memories to last a lifetime!

Here’s our itinerary and travel guide for Barcelona, Spain!

Day 1: Travel & La Rambla

  • Travel from USA
  • Purchase Hola 72 hour transit card for local trains and buses (yay for public transportation!)
  • Lodging: W Hotel I Barcelonista
  • Explore [La Rambla]
    • Started I Plaça de Catalunya
    • Dinner I Mercat de la Boqueria
    • Ended I Columbus Monument

Day 2: Best Of Barcelona

  • Croissant + coffee breakfast in the Gothic Quarter
  • Sandemans Free Tour I Starts at Gothic Quarter I 2.5 hour tour
  • Lunch + Explore – El Born
    • Ciutadella Park
    • Arc de Triomf
  • Sagrada La Familia – Church built by Gaudi I 3pm Entry  
  • Park Guell I 5pm-5:30pm Entry  
  • Dinner I Tapas Bar
  • Lodging: W Hotel I Barcelonista

Day 3: Montjuic Adventure

  • Amazing breakfast at hotel
  • Morning Beach Walk
  • Cable Car Adventure I Cable car connecting the port with an observation deck & cafe set on Montjuic hill
  • Montjuic Area Exploration
    • Gondola Ride up to Montjuic Castle
    • Explore ground around Montjuic Castle
    • Visit the Summer Olympic Diving Pool
  • Dinner I Maña 75 I Paella!
  • Post Dinner Drinks I Noxe I 26th Floor of our W Hotel
  • Lodging: W Hotel I Barcelonista

Day 4: Depart for Girona

  • Took Renfe’s high-speed train to Girona for the next stop on our Spain adventure!
