If you’re looking for additional climb on your Lookout Mountain Loop or a different rest area, then take a right on Colorow Road and head up to the Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve + Boettcher Mansion. This small detour gets you off the “busy” road and onto a quiet road with shade as you climb to the top. I especially enjoy riding by the homes on the way back to Lookout Mountain Road.
