[Hike] Paint Mines Interpretive Park

Paint Mines Interpretive Park is a hidden gem located 30 minutes northeast of Colorado Springs and 90 minutes southeast of Denver. The colorful rock formations are an unexpected delight that you don’t expect to see in this unassuming part of the flatlands of Colorado!

This was the first stop on our Cañon City + Sand Dune road trip and we spent about 90 minutes walking through the paint mines and then additional hiking along the trails surrounding the mines. If you are short on time, I recommend spending your time in the paint mines exploring every nook and cranny you can find! So cool!
