Chatfield State Park is beloved by many Coloradans! It has it all – water, boating, hiking, biking, camping, horse riding – just to name a few activities! It was one of the main draws for our move down to the southwest metro area of Denver. Cyclists of all abilities can enjoy the trails inside the park – both paved and gravel!
If you want to ride the entire perimeter of the park, you’ll encounter a non-paved road, which is when your gravel bike will come in handy! It is about 14 miles around from the South Entrance. If you don’t have a pass, I’d recommend parking at the Highline Canal Trailhead just south of the entrance.
Pack a picnic and stay for the day!
