Lost Canyon Open Space is a brand new trail system in Castle Rock, Colorado! It consists of 15 miles of hiking trails. It is a wonderful mix of canyons, forest, and open space! Dogs and bikes are prohibited.
I was so excited to have this new trail system to close my home! I snagged a parking spot at the smaller Creekside and headed up Turkey Track and Gobblers Pass to get my hike started. I used the Willow Creek Path to get to the north side quickly. Big Bear Hollow and Lost Moccasin definitely have the steepest sections within the open space. I “hugged” the edge of the park to take in the outermost areas and then passed Cattleman’s Trailhead (with a barn) before returning to Creekside. I cannot wait to come back when the last trails are open!
