The Cathedral Spires Trail is located in Custer State Park along the Needles Highway in the Black Hills of South Dakota. This a short trail, one mile out and one mile back, exploring the unique spires that make up the landscape. A spire is a tall, pointed structure, typically found on top of a building, especially a church or temple, tapering to a narrow point. It is so cool to see a spire formation out in nature and this area is full of them.
