Quandary Peak is a 14,000 ft mountain in Colorado. It is located 10 minutes north of Breckenridge, Colorado along highway 9. I love the location for two reasons – it “requires” a stop in one of my favorite mountain towns and the trailhead is just off the main, paved road.
Let’s Talk Awesome
Adventuring above tree line is an incredible, unique experience. There are few experiences where you can walk in the clouds along a narrow ridge with blue skies, mountain goats and lakes surrounding you. It is awesome!
Let’s Talk Tough
I always “forget” how tough 14ers are! Quandary is “short” yet this just means that there are less tree covered dirt trails and more rocks. You’ll encounter small rocks, big rocks and boulders all while moving such slower than a normal trail. This is your opportunity to change your mindset and embrace the slower pace to enjoy the scenario all around you. Ah!
