Steamboat Springs boasts itself as Ski Town USA producing more Olympians than any other town in North America. Its small town feel combined with world class skiing make it a perfect winter destination. I’m going to sound like a broken record here but visiting during the Covid pandemic changed a lot of the eat + drinking options (aka we ate all meals at our Airbnb) BUT skiing, with its natural outdoor location + wearing a mask for warmth, lets you “forget” we are in a pandemic for a few glorious days and hours!
We spent the Christmas holiday at Steamboat Springs as it is our tradition to travel over the holiday. We stayed next to the cabriolet (small lift to the main ski village) making it super easy and convenient to access Steamboat Village. Here is a breakdown of what we did!
Day 1: Christmas Eve
- Drove from Denver to Steamboat in the morning
- Grabbed subs at Cruisers to fuel us up
- Parked at the free park-n-ride lot and headed out for an afternoon of skiing
- Apps + drinks at the Airbnb
Day 2: Christmas Day
- Day of skiing
- Happy Hour at Timber & Torch (next to gondola)
- Fancy, home cooked dinner at the Airbnb
Day 3: One More Day
- Morning of skiing
- Happy Hour at Saddles to watch the night skiers
- Enjoyed the hot tub and pool after three days of skiiing
