White Ranch Park is an awesome hiking and mountain biking destination. I include both of those activities as this trail system is FULL of mountain bikers – hike at your own risk! It has one small single-direction trail for bikers only otherwise the rest of the trails are open to both. There is a parking lot on the east and west side of the park; I parked at the White Ranch Open Spaces Lower lot on the east side. The park has over 20 miles of multi-use trail equaling something for everyone. As we most trails in the foothills, it starts off with a decent amount of incline. Hike along the Belcher Hill Trail which goes from easy to steep and rocky very quickly while being exposed to the brilliant sunshine. For a hoop, take the Maverick Trail around to the other side of the park and a narrow, single tracked trail. Make your way back down via the Upper Longhorn, Shorthorn and Lower Longhorn before connecting back with Belcher.
