Sitges Travel Guide

Sitges is the perfect weekend getaway from Barcelona. It is a quick 45 minute train ride from one city center to the other yet feels many miles apart. It is a classic party, yet relaxing beach town filled with lots of energy!

We chose Sitges for the relaxation part as we wanted to decompress for a couple days after our Girona cycling adventure on the beach before flying back to the United States. We liked the close proximity to Barcelona and the overall vibe we saw (on the internet) and I’m happy to report that it did not disappoint. In fact, my husband said he’d move to Sitges if he could.

Day 1: Welcome to Sitges!

  • After one final breakfast with our Trek Travel friends, we took the same train back to Barcelona and boarded another to Sitges
  • We walked 15 minutes to our hotel next to the beach, Hotel Calipolis, and checked into our waterfront view room and then relaxed by the pool for the afternoon
  • We explored the city on foot and ended at Big Al’s American Kitchen (known for burgers and perfect for my husband) for dinner and beers!

Day 2: All Around Sitges!

  • We started our day with a leisure stroll by walking to the end of the pier and the Sitges marina. We grabbed coffee and croissants and watched the fisherman and boaters get ready for their day on the water
  • Not on purpose (it was cool and cloudy) we rented city bikes to explore more areas of Sitges
  • Another evening on foot exploring the inner streets and found a great spot for pizza

Day 3: Goodbye, Sitges!

  • I wasn’t ready to leave the city yet so I headed out for a quick run before we left for the airport. I took advantage of the cloudy morning to snap some fabulous photos!
