Deer Creek Canyon is the pinnacle area for road cycling climbing in the southwest metro of Denver. Every weekend (or day) cyclists flock to Wadsworth & Deer Creek to tackle the roads (climbing!) in this area. There are a few routes to take in this area – ride to the schoolhouse (and back), schoolhouse to City View Loop, or schoolhouse to Conifer Loop – depending the amount of time and elevation gain you want to take on!
We tackled the “biggest” ride to Conifer when the stars aligned – after our Solvang Ride Camp and cooler May weather – giving us the confidence to complete this route. As an added challenge or advantage, we rode from our home in Sterling Ranch giving us an extra 10 miles to “warm-up” and “cool-down” at the end.
