Chatfield State Park is the perfect spot for specific bike training or the third leg of your triathlon training day.
One of the main reasons we moved to the southwest suburbs of Denver was its close proximity to Chatfield State Park and all it has to offer for outdoor enthusiasts, especially cycling! The road through the park has dedicated bike lanes on both sides, lots of cyclists using it every day, and a cement trail near the road for those who don’t want to ride on the road. It is relatively flat yet has a couple rolling hills as you approach the dam.
Once you pull into the dam parking lot, take the 1 mile path (paved) to the end of the trail where there is a nice roundabout to turn yourself around the repeat back the same way you came.
