The Plymouth Mountain Trail is a fabulous trail within Deer Creek Canyon Park! This has been one of the best places to ride your bike and NOW one of the best places to hike – you cannot go wrong in this area!

This was one of my favorite hikes this year; I love varied terrain, loop ability, and awesome scenery! Once coming to the “Y” or decision point, I definitely recommend hiking straight or slightly right. This will take you into the “forest” and up a steeper climb.
The short travel to the overlook is located at the apex of the trail and definitely worth the short “detour”. The overlook is a great place for a pit stop, if needed.
The second half and downhill section takes you along the “edge” with awesome views of downtown Denver. I loved the section of the trail and took several photos!
One final note – if you are looking for a longer trail, check out the Black Bear Trail, which is nine miles one way! I’m putting this on my list for next year!
