The Metzler Family Open Space consists of 109 acres and 4 miles of trails in Castle Rock, Colorado. The land was donated by Robert Metzler and is part of a founding family in the Castle Rock area.
Living close to Castle Rock, I’m enjoying exploring the park, trails, and open spaces found in this region. Before attending the annual Castle Rock Art Fest, I stopped by Metzler Family Open Space. I parked at the main parking lot just north of Target and was pleasantly surprised by the signage and trail markings – very nice! I chose to do the red and green loops for a 1.5 mile adventure this time. I will be back to explore the entire area and trail system.
