Escape the Denver heat at Staunton State Park, located west of Conifer, Colorado along Highway 285. With 37 miles of trails and 25 campsites within its almost 4,000 acres, there’s plenty to explore!
Hike the Mason Creek Trail in the morning for shade as you walk along the creek. After a few miles, take the Bear Claw Trail to two beautiful overlooks, Catamount and Pikes Peaks. The Pikes Peak Overlook is a great rest stop and turnaround point.
At 8,100 ft, Staunton State Park provides a cool escape close to the city.
