Boulder is nature’s playground with endless outdoor activities and Lion’s Lair Spur Trail did not disappoint. The drive through the mountains to get to the trailhead and then the views of the city below show the great contrast found throughout Boulder.
I hiked this trail in late March (still considered “Winter”) on a cool, Sunday morning with bits of snow still on the trail. Most of the trail is covered in the trees which allowed me to see deer on my hike! Once you get to the top, the trail narrows as the city of Boulder lays beneath you and you arrive at the top of Mount Sanitas!
