If you are looking for a hike conveniently located along Hwy 119 in Boulder, check out the Betasso Trail! The trailhead starts just before reaching the tunnel with a few parking spots on the right and left sides of the road. This is a great spot if you don’t have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and/or don’t want to spend a lot of time driving from the main road to start hiking! This was a huge perk for me; I want to be out exploring versus extra driving!
I parked on the opposite side of the road and headed up Betasso Trail. The first 1.3 miles is a steady incline with a forestry feel; this would be great on a sunny day! After getting to the top and reaching the trailhead, I headed out to Bummer’s Rock for a view of the entire region.
