Full disclosure: I had no idea why this route included “schoolhouse” in the title and for most of the ride, I still didn’t know. Around mile 28, at the end of our last gravel road, this perfect little red schoolhouse appeared on the right side of the road. We almost cruised by it but at the last moment we turned our heads, and thought “omg, there is the schoolhouse”. The title makes sense now.
This was a great route to start our weekend in Steamboat Springs and I definitely recommend checking it out!
