[Gravel Ride] Gunni Grinder 30

The Gunni Grinder is an annual gravel bike event in Gunnison, Colorado. The event offers three distances – 30, 60, 120 miles – something for everyone! We followed the 30 mile route on our own and, let me tell you, it is NOT an easy or beginner ride! It starts from Jorgensen Park and heads out of town past the airport and towards Hartman Rock on a paved road. After 7 miles the pavement ends and the gravel begins! After decent-ish gravel for a few miles you turn onto a small “road” where the vertical incline dramatically increases! We had to do a small amount of walk-a-bike with grades reaching 15% and the terrain turning rocky but soon we were back to the gravel, then the pavement, and home to the park!
