[Girls Trip] Willamette Valley

Willamette Valley is a popular destination for girls trips located in central Oregon. My main attraction is the wineries and vineyards located in the region.

We visited Willamette Valley during the autumn season and had a great time exploring the region. We were quite ambitious with our itinerary, wanting to visit the coast and see as many waterfalls as possible in addition to wine tasting!

Here’s what we did on our girls trip to the Willamette Valley!

Day One I Columbus River Gorge

  • Travel to PDX
  • Drive along the Columbia River Gorge Highway
  • Hike to Multnomah Falls
  • Lunch I Multnomah Falls Lodge (recommend; after a bigger than expected hike, lunch at the lodge was just what we needed!)
  • Airbnb in rural Carlton, Oregon (highly recommend; we stayed at a great house with a rooftop hot tub, which we used every night and definitely a must on all girls trips)
  • Dinner I Blind Pig (cautiously recommend; I’m big on a restaurant’s vibe and atmosphere which the Blind Pig didn’t have on a Thursday night. We were the only table and people in the restaurant so it just felt “odd” in there. However, the entire wait staff was pleasant and the food good)

Day Two I Pacific Ocean

  • Drive to the coast – Pacific City!
  • Hike around Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area
  • Whale Watching (we had a 12:30pm reservation but it was canceled (no notice) as we raced to get there – big bummer)
  • Happy Hour I Flying Dutchman Winery
  • Beach Walk I Newport
  • Dinner I Local Ocean (do not recommend; we booked a reservation at the “Chef’s Table” which turned out to be table by the door which was underwhelming to say the least)

Day Three I Silver Falls State Park “Trail of 10 Falls”

  • Hike I Trail of Ten Falls in Silver Lake State Park
  • Happy Hour + Dinner I Pizza Capo (highly recommend: great vibe in downtown McMinnville with wood-fired pizzas – my favorite)

Day Four I Wine Tour

  • Wine Tour I Serenity Wine Tour (highly recommend; with the vineyards spread out throughout the region, a driver is a must! Holly went above and beyond to curate a tour designed for us)
  • Dinner I Takeout (recommend; we called in our order on our way home from our wine tour and enjoyed our meals. Although, after a day of wine drinking, anything tastes good)
