[Girls Trip] Temecula Wine Country

Temecula is quickly becoming a wine country alternative to the more popular and expensive regions in northern California and for good reason! The scenery and quality of wine at these wineries is top notch with growth quickly happening. The region is accessible from both LAX and SAN (about 90 minutes from each) which means renting a car is a good idea. A rental vehicle will also come in handy to travel between the downtown area with restaurants and shops and the vineyards out of town in the country.

Here’s what we did for our Girls Trip in Temecula:

Day 1: Thursday, April 22nd

  • Arrived  at LAX in the late afternoon and grabbed gyros before heading to Temecula.

Pro tip: we ordered groceries + drinks from a grocery store and had them delivered to our Airbnb to save us time and an additional stop. Loved this!

Day 2: Friday, April 23rd

  • Started our morning with a homemade egg breakfast and mimosas
  • Hired a driver to transport us around for the day and visited three wineries in the valley.
    • Stop One: Doffo Winery
      • We were excited to get started and bellied up to the bar to do the wine tasting at Doffo. The vintage motorbike theme stands out at this vinery. Reds were the highlight here and a girlfriend bought bottles to take home!
    • Stop Two: Bottaia Winery
      • This new space is gorgeous with the modern farmhouse look and simple design. We sat outside with an awesome view of the growing vines. We each did a wine tasting and ordered a cheese board to share. Sophisticated and upscale feel!
    • Stop Three: Robert Renzoni Vineyards
      • After two stops and more drinks on the tour bus, the third stop was a little fuzzy! Robert Renzoni is a beautiful location on the hillside and we snagged a table outside for a wine tasting at the busy spot!
  • Happy Hour in downtown Temecula at 1909 Temecula. We had our driver drop us off in downtown Temecula which is about 20 minutes from the wineries in the region. After happy hour / early dinner, we called it a day and headed back to our Airbnb.

Day 3: Saturday, April 24th

  • Pool Day at our Airbnb! Some explored downtown Temecula during the time as well. This was a great day to chill out and fill with girl talk – something we all treasured!
  • Happy Hour at Oak Mountain Winery near our Airbnb. We walked through the fields and soaked in the beautiful scenery and weather.
  • Dinner at Be Good Restaurant + Experience

Day 4: Sunday, April 25th

  • Early morning drive back to LAX and our wonderful trip had come to an end. We only wish we’d arrived earlier on Thursday to visit another winery or two for happy hour + drinks!

We had a lovely visit to Temecula and just what we all needed after a year of the pandemic. The time spent together talking + laughing filled my soul! Until our next trip!
