This route has affectionately been nicknamed the “Tulip” as its Strava profile distinctively resembles this flower! This route has a little of everything – it takes you through Chatfield State Park, up the South Platte River Trail, across the Bear Creek Trail and then down the C-470 Trail. The main attraction is the view from the top of Mount Carbon which will be well earned after the steepest climb of the route!
My husband and I ride this route a lot – it is in our regular rotation of long weekend rides from our home in Sterling Ranch. We like to ride it when we do a little less climbing while still getting in plenty of miles.
