After using Deer Creek Canyon last year to prepare for the Triple Bypass and loving it, it should come as no surprise that our first ride from our new home venturing up to the school!
Our new home is approximately ten (10) miles from the start of the climb (Deer Creek and Wadsworth) so our legs are pretty warmed up by the time we cross Wadsworth.
This route gets me every time! It is a lovely 3-5% grade until you see the switchback signs and caution to drive 10mph, where the grade moves up and settles at 8-10% for a few miles. Yikes! It goes back to 3-6% but it can seem never ending at moments. I’m a data nerd, so I’m alway looking at my computer to see where we are; both mile and elevation – knowing the climb tops out at 8,400 ft at the school. We are excited to use this route to gauge our fitness in the years to come!
