On Two Feet

[Hike] Apex Loop

It must be a good hike if I’ve visited the park multiple times; three already to be exact! I wrote about my second time at Apex Park here after my initial visit during my first month living in Colorado in August of 2020.

The park itself has over 10 miles of trails and I was determined to cover all of them in one outing. Spoiler alert: I didn’t make it the whole way but covered almost 8 miles. Always something to look forward to!

I set out on the Magic Mountain Trail and headed west. This trail follows a creek and is shielded from the sun so it was covered in snow and on the chilly side. This trail takes you to the other side of the park where I turned around and headed back on the Hardscrabble > Pick-n-Sledge > Argos trails. These trails are higher up, filled with sun and melting snow! I loved the variety and, as always, a loop!
