Skiing in Steamboat Springs is a perfect weekend getaway into the Colorado mountains! It is 2:45-3 hours from Denver metro making it the perfect distance from the city to beautiful mountains! The Steamboat Springs area is split between two miles; with the ski resort on the south side of US 40 and downtown Steamboat Springs just north of the resort. You can take the Yampa River Core Trail between the two areas yet most drive.
We skied “the boat” over the Christmas holiday and had a great time! The skiing was a mix of bluebird, ice, and powder days! We had a wonderful meal at Besame, happy hour with friends from Denver and watched Christmas movies around the fire at our Airbnb!
