When the Covid pandemic stretches into year 2 and, once again, disrupts your travel plan for a milestone celebration, you are very thankful for a friend with a home in lake country. This trip was more about catching up, connecting, and laughing than any sightseeing location so it was fitting to be sitting by a lake we had all created so many memories of over the decades.
We spent time on the water – on the lilly pad [why didn’t I create this?], on an evening boat cruise [my favorite], and at the sand bar enjoying our charcuterie bar lunch.
We spent time in nature – bike rides along the Central Lakes Trail and runs along the gravel road in lake country.
We got out [for one happy hour] – we went to a local favorite Carlos Creek Winery which has a winery, brewery, and popular bar. We couldn’t get over the name of the “Jack’s” as we all had just finished watching the latest season of Virgin River!
With friends in all four time zones, this time together was a gift and celebrated our decades of friendship; cheers to many more gatherings!
