Boulder has several hiking options and I started my exploration on the south side of the city, closer to my home in Arvada, Colorado. The Marshall Mesa Trailhead is located just off Hwy 93 making it easy to get to, especially in the winter, when I visited.
The trails out of the Marshall Mesa Trailhead are on flat ground making it a great trail for families and people of all abilities. I visited over Thanksgiving weekend and definitely ran into many families, everyone looking for fresh air throughout the holiday weekend.
